Model Structures for Model Railroads is pleased to offer O Gauge Rail-Roading AmeriTowne building kits for O scale layouts at a 20% discount.
All kits are priced at a 20% discount cost.
I have built a lot of different kits from various manufacturers - hydrocal, wood, soft plastic, and hard plastic...and have come to like the Ameritowne product due to its cost, ease of assembly (no warp like the soft plastic) and the fact that when you are done you have a building that can compete with any of its kind at 2-3 times the cost.
Each kit is complete and easy to build. Once assembled and painted these buildings will compete with any other kit 2 or 3 times as expensive. The addition of decals and accessories such as the fire escape shown above make the building look even better! Pieces are molded in 1/4" thick high-impact polystyrene. Most importantly the kits are great for kit-bashing and customizing. Except where noted the foot print for each kit is approx. 6" x 6" not including loading docks, steps etc.
Please visit our On-Line store for availability and price. The On-Line store presents the buildings in several series. In the Options button simply choose the name of the building you wish to purchase. If you don't see a product you want please contact us and we will order at the discounted price!
For War Gamers both the AmeriTowne building kits plus the Woodland Scenics DPM kits are the perfect size for 28 mm figures!
This classic 6-story hotel will look great in your city scene!
At a stately 18 inches tall, this building will add a special presence to your downtown area. The footprint is 6” x 6” x 18 high”. The kit is complete with everything you need (except paint) to build it, including window graphics and a finely detailed fire escape from Korber Models.
The back consists of the standard #70 back wall (garage door / people door with single window on next two stories). The upper panel is the 9 window #71 3-story wall. The side opposite the one shown in the picture consists of the same #71 9-window panels as shown in the photo of the side with the fire escapes. So a customer has the option of placing the fire escapes on either side of the building.

Some photos of standard kits and kit bashing performed by James Hoffman for his layout.
These photos are from Mark Hado. Mark took the Firehouse kit and cut it down to one story to fit in with other buildings he has. He also added roof details and lighting since this will be for a Christmas Tree layout
J. Picciano sent photos of his OGR kits. Mr. Picciano used “PanPastel Colors for Models” to weather the painted colors applied as suggested from the directions, followed by a Dullcote spray. Mortar was a light white wash, with buildings glued together as suggested with taped interior joints to avoid light leakage from 12V LED bulbs on selected floors.
In the last photo the water tank is the standard OGR product however Mr. Picciano used a razor to mark out board lines, copper dollhouse tape for the tank rings and PanPastel colors for the roof and tank and brown paint for the base. The fire house was made of parts from the AmeriTown kits left over from other buildings.
These photos are from Mel Harner showing kit bashing of OGR kits on his layout - No that is is Godzilla in the background.............
A customer - O. Bieroegel used the Mid-town Hotel kit to make a building ready for demolition. His photos are shown below. Mr. Bieroegel made the signage using a 3D printer.
