Open Air Loading Dock
The Open Air Loading Dock measures 6 1/2 inches (W) x 13 1/2 inches (L) x 7 inches (H). The loading dock is 2 1/2 inches wide and 13 1/2 inches long. The standard Flat Car Loading dock is used as a ramp for this structure so adds an extra 8 inches to the total length. The roof is styrene plastic painted to simulate a tarred roof. This is something new I designed and assembled for my layout. The design is a prototype now so will undergo modification as it matures. The bottom chords have been laminated from thin strips using a jig designed for an 054 radius so the entire deck is one piece and very stable. For this prototype the deck ties were glued by sight only. An alignment jig will need to be designed for future product. Since glue up jigs would have to be built for all the different track radii available Model Structures encourages anyone interested in purchasing curved decking to contact us. Right now if you are in need of an 054 or O72 radius deck we are good to go. Just contact us for a quote.
Wood Water Tower
The superstructure for this tower is made from the same wood used for our bridges and decking so offers a solid sturdy foundation. The tank, ladder and piping are plastic and the vent pipe is brass. The railing is either piano wire or aluminum. The tank is 4” tall and 2 inches in diameter. The wood superstructure is about 8 ¼ inches tall and is 4 inches square at the base.
