I have built a lot of different kits from various manufacturers - hydrocal, wood, soft plastic, and hard plastic...and have come to like the Ameritowne product due to its cost, ease of assembly (no warp like the soft plastic) and the fact that when you are done you have a building that can compete with any of its kind at 2-3 times the cost.
Each kit is complete and easy to build. Once assembled and painted these buildings will compete with any other kit 2 or 3 times as expensive. The addition of decals and accessories such as the fire escape shown above make the building look even better! Pieces are molded in 1/4" thick high-impact polystyrene. Most importantly the kits are great for kit-bashing and customizing. Except where noted the foot print for each kit is approx. 6" x 6" not including loading docks, steps etc.

820 Series 2-Story Buildings
These kits come ready to asemble with window graphics, clear acetate sheets, sidewalks and textured brick walls. They measure 6" x 6" x 8"
860 Series 2-Story Buildings
These kits come ready to asemble with window graphics, clear acetate sheets, sidewalks and textured brick walls in red brick styrene. They measure 6" x 6" x 8".
870 Series 3-Story Buildings
These kits come ready to asemble with window graphics, clear acetate sheets, sidewalks and textured brick walls in red brick styrene. They measure 6" x 6" x 9". These kits can be kitbashed into 5-story buildings.
Industrial Buildings
These are the larger kits with extras like roof top tanks and docks. The Acme Machine Co. measures 6" x 6" x 10". The Homestead Furniture Factory measures 6" x 12" x 10" and the Barrettsburg Tool and Die measures a whopping 18" x 12" x 10". There is some custom cutting involved in the assembly of the Barrettsburg building.

Gas Station Gas Pump Island
I recently bought a Walthers Cornerstone 'Dave's Superstation" (the structure on the left) and redecorated it for Shell. Once placed on the layout I realized it was missing something for the modern era - no gas pump island!
This gas pump island is the perfect complement to place next to your gas station to add more action and reality to the scene. The pump island measures approximately 8 in. x 6 in. x 6 in(h). The island shown is decorated for Shell and has some pumps and cars as props. The gas pump island is sold bare without any pumps/cars which must be separately supplied but comes standard with the appropriate (as much as we can) paint scheme and lettering.
